Research Fellow / Postdoc positions – Urban climate and thermal comfort - Ref. No. 2025/24
The Institute of Computer Science of the Czech Academy of Sciences is seeking a researcher or postdoctoral researcher to join the Department of Complex Systems. This temporary position focuses on urban climate, specifically
on human outdoor thermal comfort, participatory methods, and crowdsourced measurements.

Position with the following conditions:
- Flexible working conditions, including a negotiable starting date and the possibility of a part-time contract. Funding is available until the end of 06/2026.
- Monthly gross salary 45,000–60,000/month based on qualifications and experience.
- Travel funding for conferences and research stays.
- Five weeks of paid vacation on top of public holidays; social and health care insurance; child care facilities in the Institute’s building; and a highly attractive location.
- No teaching duties.
Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. degree in natural sciences and previous experience with urban climate research are welcome. Exceptions (e.g., for parental leave or long-term illness) may be granted following institute-specific guidelines. Applicants before Ph.D. defence may be considered for a transitional period to be hired at a doctoral student or research assistant level.
- Strong background in at least one of the following areas: urban climate, field measurements, participative mapping, and thermal comfort.
- Fluency in English.
