We seek a postdoctoral fellow or junior scientist to join the Czech Science Foundation project “Interpolation, Amalgamation, and Computation” (INTERACT), led by Dr. Wesley Fussner at the Institute of Computer Science of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
The project aims to develop an encompassing theory of interpolation across varied logical environments by unifying proof-theoretic and algebraic approaches. The successful candidate will conduct research along this theme, both individually and in collaboration with the PI and other team members.

We seek a Ph.D. candidate to join the Czech Science Foundation project “Interpolation, Amalgamation, and Computation” (INTERACT), led by Dr. Wesley Fussner at the Institute of Computer Science of the Czech Academy of Sciences.

A project funded by the Praemium Academiae awarded to Milan Paluš (http://www.cs.cas.cz/mp/) by the Czech Academy of Sciences for the period 2020-2025 is open for applications for a position of research fellow or postdoctoral researcher. There is an open position for a research fellow / postdoc in mathematical and computational neuroscience at the Institute of Computer Science under the supervision of Dr. Helmut Schmidt. The successful candidate will join a diverse team of researchers who work at the interface of neuroimaging and computational modelling of brain activity. The focus of this position will be on developing computationally efficient models of biological neural networks with complex network structure and a variety of neuron types, using state-of-the-art mean field approaches. A junior scientist (postdoc) position is available to join the Department of Complex system, Institute of Computer Science of the Czech Academy of Sciences (ICS CAS) for the project “Neural networks realtime forecasting of variable baseline for the power equipment at HV, LV voltage levels” (TAČR reg. No. TK05020142).
This project aims to predict the parameters of the energy distribution system based on knowledge of the evolution of the system in time and other usually time-dependent external variables such as the weather or the situation in the financial energy markets. The main objective is to apply artificial intelligence methods in this area, particularly in the field of deep learning.

Topic 1: Detailed biophysical modelling of neurotransmitter action (supervised by Pavel Sanda).

The DigiWELL project responds to research challenges in key areas of the rapidly evolving domain of digital technologies aimed at promoting physical, mental and social wellbeing. A postdoc position is available at the Institute of Computer Science under the supervision of Dr. Helmut Schmidt. The successful candidate will join a diverse team of researchers who work at the interface of neuroimaging and computational neuroscience, and will have the opportunity to work on one or more of the following topics: 1. the development of mathematical models of cortical microcircuits that are both biologically realistic and computationally efficient; 2. the integration of state-of-the-art mean field models of cortical activity into whole-brain network models, with a strong emphasis on realistic long-range axonal signal transmission; 3. the application of such models to neuroimaging data (EEG and fMRI).
