Dr. Wolfgang Poiger awarded ERA Fellowship for the project GLOWS

The Institute of Computer Science is pleased to welcome a prestigious new research project funded by the European Union. Wolfgang Poiger, Ph.D. will pursue his ERA Fellowship project GLOWS at the Institute, exploring new frontiers in theoretical computer science.

The ERA Fellowship is a dedicated funding scheme that serves as the equivalent of the MSCA (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions) Postdoctoral Fellowship, specifically designed to support excellent researchers implementing their projects in widening countries like the Czech republic. The European Commission awards these fellowships to outstanding scientists for advanced training and skill development through international mobility. The funding enables researchers to focus on innovative fields and build profound expertise.

Wolfgang Poiger – Game Logic of Weighted Strategies (GLOWS)

Wolfgang Poiger specialises in theoretical computer science. His research under the project "Game Logic of Weighted Strategies" (GLOWS) initiates the study of weighted game logics, which are capable of describing strategic ability in two-player games involving quantitative data. The project is highly relevant to current challenges in computer science, as it aims to devise logical systems capable of appropriately handling quantitative data using powerful mathematical toolkits.

The project will be carried out under the supervision of Marta Bílková Ph.D.
