Principal Investigator: Mgr. Pavel Krč, Ph.D.

The aim of the project is to develop new tools to assess the dispersion of traffic emissions in urban areas at high temporal and spatial resolution. To develop these tools, a synergy of advanced methods such as computational fluid dynamics, wind tunnel experiments, previously measured concentrations and microclimatic parameters in real urban hotspot environments, and statistical methods to derive annual statistics, for which air quality limits are set, will be used. The main output of the project will be software for the assessment of the current air quality and the impact of traffic scenarios in urban hotspots. The results will be used by the Ministry of Environment and the municipal authorities to propose measures to achieve the air quality limits.
